Budget bike for a tall guy

I'm about 6ft5 and am looking to buy a new bike. I understand I need a frame around the 62cm mark but have been struggling to find many in my price range (pref £500 and under). I'm wondering if any of you guys could help me out thanks!

I'm a bit taller than you and ride a 62cm very comfortably.
Trek and Giant do big bikes, Evans are doing a 25 inch Trek 7.3 FX disc for £489:

Giant do similar in sizes up to 64cm.
Cube also do some pretty big bikes and Decathlon do a couple of mid-range drop bars in 62 if you have one near.

I'm the same height and ride a 60cm Cannodale and a 63cm Peugeot. Does it have to be new? You'll get more bike for your money buying a used one.
There are currently 24 results on Ebay for bikes sized 61 - 64cm, see HERE, but there are also 569 listings that don't specify the size in the search terms so you may have to do some digging

Thanks for the input guys, after visiting evans im considering the http://www.evanscycl...d-bike-ec025005 Specialised, sweet looking bike!
If you like it good luck. I don't personally like sloping top tubes, (but hey, it's not my bike  ). A few years ago I had a Trek Madone 5.5 with horizontal geometry. Then when the new Madone came out with sloping geometry I went to try one. My Madone was a 60cm, the shop had a 60cm, I sat on it and it looked ridiculous under me and just felt much too small, I would have needed the largest size they did which IIRC was a 63cm.

Don't get me wrong, it may be perfect for you and you could love it, but I just thought I'd share my own experience

Hmm so that's now £600 or under. I was going to suggest the Specialized Allez 16 at £499 until I considered that you hadn't actually specified road bike except in earlier posts.
Think I have the Secteur in a 61cm frame and I'm only 6' 3".

I'm 6'8" and I'm searching for a road bike at the moment. This morning I've had a sit on a Giant Defy in XL and was very impressed. I think they start at around £560.

If you're after comfort rather than speed the biggest new Surly LHTs come in a 64cm instead of 62cm.

Great bike for long days out ,touring or commuting.

I want it to go to a cyclist who will recognize a good bike when he sees one.

That's already been pencilled in as n+2

I've stepped back from the Giant after falling for a 2012 Trek 1.5. At £750 it's the cheapest roadie they do in a 64cm, it's got pretty good spec for the price (20 speed Tiagra compact) and it's a bit of a looker too!
