Hi everyone,

I've managed to kill the rear wheel on my Boardman CX bike, which I mainly use as a winter road bike and also use one some old railway tracks

I need a reasonably priced rear wheel which isn't crazily heavy. Happy to spend £100-120 or would consider a pair for £200. My local bike shop have suggested a Mach 1 double wall rim with Deore hub which is only £60 or about £100 for a pair but these sound really heavy at 1120g front and 1320g rear.

Does anyone else have any suggestions? Seems to be a big gulf on cross wheels?

Cheers

Tim

These seem to be the go-to wheels for crossbikes;

Maybe have a search for hand-builts if you could stretch a bit more,probably be about £300+ but would be a good investment.
