Bug - italics in thread

On this thread, italics suddenly appeared after the post linked to. I suspect that the reason is that the poster copied some text from a web page, that had an opening italic tag but not a closing one. Because the editor preserves HTML when pasting, every post after that is now in italics.
Impossible to fix when posting, as the editor doesn't have an HTML view.

As you correctly deduced it was a failure to close an italic HTML tag.

Now fixed ...

I find that turning off the RTE (real-time editor) really helps - Settings > Posting Settings > Untick (Enable visual (RTE) editor?)
