I get my R872 tomorrow, but I'm having custom built wheels - Chinese made carbon 38mm rims with Hope Pro 3's.

I'm not too fussed about the weight, but am in a way. I would be happy with anything sub 8 kilos tbfh.

Btw the Ribble is a copy of the De Rosa R838 which are very decent bikes.

My bike is circa 7.3kg built using a Chinese carbon frame with full carbon fork, Sram Apex groupset, Planet X Al30 wheels with Pro4 tyres, alu Giant bars, Fizik saddle (courtesy of Accountant Pete) Look Keo classic pedals. Total cost £940 Cheap as you like and has performed fine over the last 12 months. I know I could save a bit of weight and get it below 7kg quite easily, but I am happy with it's weight as is. It is a 58cm so not a tiny bike either.

The De Rosa with 105 is just £200 cheaper than my prospective Ribble with Di2, so pretty difficult to find a better deal, and I'm letting my head rule my heart and not getting a Specialized Venge.

Go with whatever you would like to build, but obviously money is going to be an issue when it comes to building a bike of that spec.
R872 is a very nice f+f combo though. I'd definitely have a good think either way, before spending your money.

That's good! I got my R872frame and fork slightly used for £250. I'll be grabbing bargains to build it, so should be cheaper than buying new parts.
