I note on his Wikipedia page, he says that "Architecture is a dialogue with the forces of life" - well, I guess trying to fight the sun could come under this heading...
Also, another priceless statement was that he didn't realise it was going to get so hot, maybe 36 degrees but not 72 degrees. Presumably the incident where his hotel set the guests' hair on fire wasn't dramatic enough to stick in the mind when looking at the design of the latest building and err on the side of caution.
Apparently it takes 7 years to train to be an architect. I would propose that they should slightly amend the curriculum to include a module on "how not to design buildings that set sh!t on fire. Or if you do, how not to do it twice".
