Used for one tour last year. Works only with the Busch and Muller e-Werk with the variable voltage and current output as it requires 5.6V for charging. The e-Werk USB will not charge the battery as the output voltage is 5.0V.

The E-Werk makes hub dynamo energy universally useable and supplies mobile devices with power in variable voltage and current. With the cache battery, the bike-mobile power supply unit is even more universal and an even smoother operation is made possible. For some few devices cannot be powered or charged when the voltage they are fed with fluctuates or is interrupted. When one cycles slowly, the energy created by the hub dynamo and transformed by the E-Werk first drops and reaches zero when the bike stands still. Some devices react a bit touchily to these fluctuations and switch off. Other devices have to be manually switched back to powering by the E-Werk after stops.

The cache battery is the one-size-fits-all solution in both cases: Connected between the E-Werk and the mobile device, it can at the same time be charged and give off 5V (the standard value for USB connections) without fluctuating.

The battery comes in a nylon bag that can be fixed on bicycle frames of all diameters using a velcro cloth tape.
