Thanks for your advice so far and apologies for the lack of any response, but I'm just back from a&e after an impromptu acrobatics lesson from the bonnet of an Audi. I'm remarkably unscathed considering - right arm in a sling so typing and liking with left hand only for now.

Was the driver a business banking rep by any chance?

Co-Op works well for me, no charges as I am an FSB member, also a deal with WorldPay and FSB means the card machine costs me a £5 a month. No overdraft, and a bit in bothe business accounts and they even give me a £25 bonus each year. I have honestly never had a better call centre operation than the one they give, when I once asked if they had an oversea's call centre the operator said they have one in Stockport does that count.

We use Barclays and they've always been good. Of course these days they do nowt and I do all the payment transfers and pay them for the privilege! In the initial years we negotiated zero fees. The chances of having the same bank manager for more than a few months are small though which can make things a little disjointed.

My last year with Barclays, which was a long time ago my charges were about £700 all the time I was in considerable credit, the CO-OP now is zero with a charge of £125 for FSB membership, which brings other benefits. I think banks depend on us not changing.
they're not really proper bank managers, I'm not really sure what the point of them is now. When I first went into business 30+ years ago my bank manager was just fantastic, proper old school but he used to put work my way and actually help me run my business, he knew and understood the real world, I wouldn't have made it without him - nowadays they just seem to try and sell you crap you don't need and get all officious over nowt.
Bank managers are there to sell, when they have done that they are there to sell, and repeat. A good friend of mine was an old school Nat West manager chucked his job in for that reason.

And the bike? Not that I care if it's that ugly carbon thing.

I type through the pain.

Where do you write up man-downs these days for the forum ghouls?

You need to post it in it's own thread.

Half of CC can then call for the driver to be hung at noon, while the other half tell you that it was your fault for not riding properly. While one tells you that it's ok he didn't see you as although they're half blind they're "allowed" to drive.
