Did a 25 miles ride yesterday, washed both cars, repaired top of the drive with concrete, cleaned two of my bikes and collected a doll's house my wife wants to do up as a project.
How was your weekend?

Granddaughter (5) broke her arm for the second time in about a year on Friday so leapt into grandparents roles yesterday and looked after her two sisters (12 and 8) that night round ours all day yesterday That was lovely to just relax with them, took them to watch the dragonboat races, a fair bit of walking too.
Granddaugher (5) had OP to fix breaks, home at 17.30, all well there.
Today has become Sunday dinner day with us for other son, daughter in law and two other grandkids, paddling pool and bouncy castle get loads of use, o much dinner eaten by, all, lovely relaxing if loud day.
Took dinner to my 88 YO mum and spent a bit of time wih her, rather worryingly she started slurring but she does that occasionally, a bit of a family thing, balance problems probably.

I was going to wash the car earlier but thought ..stuff it.

Sunday is family day, usually he more the better, today was no exception, love it (when the kids are well behaved anyway). Dinner was superb, everyones gone home happy, Imogen (2) fell asleep the moment her head the car seat going home.

Going for a well deserved ride soon.

My weekend was kind of elongated as I was supposed to be working from home Thursday and Friday so obviously I took advantage of this and took Mrs Slick to Largs on the bikes for some fish and chips. I spent Friday feeling a bit guilty and trying to make up for it by actually doing a bit of work. I did a homer on Saturday morning for a friend of a friend before heading to a neighbour's house for a great meal and a few beers. Today was in the garden and maybe a ride round Loch Katrine with my brother but it never materialised so I'm sitting watching the news looking at CC and trying to work up the enthusiasm to complete my workload before work tomorrow.

Watched Knaresborough Bedrace parade yesterday (quaint but bonkers local tradition) and had a gig in York last night.
Visited father in law today who crashed his car into a parked car last night. He is 86 and just got back from America. He's ok but the car is a write off and worryingly, he can't recall how it happened. How do you persuade someone that it is time to give up driving?

I lost nearly half a stone last week due to awful D&V - started to feel better Friday. Therefore, we had a steady Saturday morning, got the laundry done then had a little trip out to Buxton. Walked around the park and the town to try to stop my knees from wobbling! Got the food shopping in.

Much better yesterday - another load of laundry, cut the grass and the verge, trimmed the Hawthorne hedge. The I tackled the Hornbeam hedge which has grown to 10 feet and I wanted it back to 6-7 feet. Needed to use the loppers. Then started to trim up the more 'worthwhile' bits into kindling for the wood burner. Got about 2/3 of the hedge done, came in and cooked tea.

I'd recorded the Dauphine, so watched that and the F1 (shouldn't have bothered with the latter...).
