Something happened this year. We always grow them and, apart from 2012, they have always produced. This year they have gone mad. We had to carry them only two at a time. Tonight is going to be risotto and soup. I'll roast one of the smaller examples. Any favourite recipes you want to suggest?

Could always hollow one out and use it as a shed!

Pretty much my favourite soup. Butternut squash and chilli, just don't forget to stick a slug of honey in too.

Risotto is a good idea with plenty of butter and good quality parmesan.

A friend made this the other day and she crumbled amaretti biscuits into it for another flavour dimension. You could try that as an alternative?

Roasted butternut squash and roasted garlic soup. The more garlic, the better. :hungry:

Also nice added in chunks to a nice vegetable curry or to a vegetarian lasagne.

'S nice "au gratin" as well.

Thanks everyone. You cannot believe how much soup and risotto even the smallest one made! I might try the lasagne with baked layers of polenta instead. Been meaning to try it for ages.

Luckily, these things last for ages.
