Just thought I would let you all know about my own stupid behaviour.
Found a Bianchi on E-Bay, advert was detailed, good spec, nice paint job and going for a reasonable price, put my bid in and won.
Happy days I thought, not too cheap but not overpriced for a used Bianchi, bike gets delivered, chip in frame, not a big deal but not noted in advert, then the problems start, forks will not tighten up, too much play, found problem, a spacer short so no pressure when tightening up, not pulling all parts together.
Fix this problem and out I go, gears not working as they should, all Dura Ace, so something's up.
As all this is going on I am corresponding with the seller because he said it had been fully serviced for me and packaged up straight after the service!
So not really happy and then think let's check out the frame number, make sure it's all legit, well Bianchi UK Head Office tell me all Genuine Bianchi numbers start WBK or older models may have TP as the first letters.
Mine is DS-FM not real/genuine Bianchi the nice lady tells me.
So now I have an E-Bay dispute and trying to get my money back!!!

don't think it's stupid behaviour just unlucky.the problem with e bay disputes is that it can take awhile to get your money back

The good thing with eBay disputes is that the seller won't get the money either. It will be held in PayPal (which is owned by eBay)

Now the seller has no bike and no money, so expect a quicker resolution!!

have you reported it as counterfeit?

ive done that once with some yo zuri lures turned up badged as yd zori. money was back in my account within 24 hours.

question do you suspect it to be a deliberate fake, or they have bought used and sold it thinking its a bianchi?

Surely that's not the buyers issue? Fake, knowingly or not, is still fake, in addition to blatantly lying about the service element too. Personally, I am dubious that the seller didn't know it was fake, based on the lies.

A lot depends on things we don't have an answer for
The service may have been done by a chain where the person doing the work was quite clueless
The bike may have been sold by someone other then the owner.
The question I posed leads to a name and shame the seller if it points to a deliberate act

Not sure what the OP paid, but if i bought a bike of any value from any auction site or seller, i would have asked for the SN before i bid.

My Bianchi has a tag transfer on the frame. It clearly shows the serial number. Bike also came with a cardboard certificate with matching serial number.

I should of done this, but didn't think about it till after the sale. It's all on report with E-bay and hopefully will have my money back the next day or two.
As for the Seller I think he knew it was not a genuine frame, sent pictures today to Bianchi UK as the nice lady there asked for them, their technical department wanted to have a look!
