Ladies and gents thanks for all of your help.

I hope I haven't wasted too much of you time but I've been out on the peugeot tonight and really enjoyed it, making me think twice about what I actually want.

My wife has thrown yet another spanner in the works by telling me to buy some components/accessories for the peugeot and wait until after the summer, then reassess my bike budget. I think she might be hinting at cycling more before committing to the purchase, or she has been tipped off by a friend that LBS start reducing 2014 bikes in sept.

I'm sure I'll change my mind again soon, but thanks for all suggestions
