Buying a cheap ladies bike in Hampshire

Hi guys,

Planning some more cycling soon and hoping to drag my other half with me on a few easy rides.

Hoping to just buy a cheap starter for her to see if she's into it. Hoping to go for the second hand route, but don't know where to start? EBay seems to be lacking them in my area.

Does anyone know anywhere that has second hand bikes in the Hampshire area? (I'm based on winchester). I Remember my LBS back home having a small stock of second hand bikes they had in from trade ins etc that were in good nick for a decent price.

The Halfords Carrera subway is a decent bike and usually 'on sale' at £250 or less. Indeed an utter bargain at the moment, albeit not ladies specific, so will depend how tall she is

Decathlon also has a good budget range, a cut above the supermarket/Argos BSO fare

I live in WInchester and agree it is a bit hard to find decent secondhand stuff. The Subway is indeed an excellent bike and at £170, a bargain. Decathlon in Soton also a good place to look. I also have a search saved on Ebay that emails me updates of likely stuff. Looking for an old good quality MTB with no supension

I picked up a Subway 1 for about £45 a few months back, in New Milton. Found it on Gumtree. My mate picked up a Subway 1 for £15 in Gosport a month or so back....again, on Gumtree. Just got to keep an eye out for the bargains!
