Let us know what you end up doing. I guess if you buy it in England, the price is the same as them shipping it, plus you get to try different sizes. If you decide to buy the Specialized (great bikes BTW) at Evans I would ask them what accessories they will throw in if you buy today. It has always worked for me, but I have not bought a bike at Evans yet.

This is a crazy situation...

Our daughter lives in Deal Kent which is where we stay when we come over to the UK..
Evanscycles are 100 miles away so a 200 round trip which will cost me another £35 ish in petrol so a Sirrus Comp 2013 at £800 will cost me £835 with petrol but they will send the bike free postage to Spain so I would save the £35 petrol money..

But I will keep you postage as the days pass.. :thumbsup:
 
Bon courage...whatever happens you will have a nice bike there. If you want a short test ride then pop in on me near Bordeaux on your way to Malaga:biggrin:.

BTW, I would check with Evans what sizes they have in stock for that model as you may have a wasted trip.

As soon as we have a proper date for our visit which at the moment is around the 14/15 of April I will ring Evans so they can organise a bike, but with all the bike shops sell the Comp at the same price I can always go to another dealer with no problems... :thumbsup:
PS. We normally stop in Bordeaux at an E-tap on the way up as thats are stop over on our way to Deal.. :smile:

Do you know I have reached the conclusion I have no love for my Giant TCR1 road bike, I love my Trek Elite mtb and even though I have not yet got my flatbar road Sirrus Comp if I'm watching the tv and I think about the Sirrus Comp it bring a smile to my face but never the TCR..
I just thought you would like to know that... :smile:

I love all my bikes .... An unloved bike is an Ebay bike. Time to sell and let someone else love it.

All bikes need loving, short fat ones to tall skinny ones ;)

Before I got the TCR I did read some of the forum threads and most seem to say that you all end up with a road bike in the end, so I got one?
But in my case I only ride on the hoods never on the drops so a flarbar road bike for me its a better choice hence I'm buying one now..
Your right though, if I fall for this other bike big time the TCR might have to go.. :smile:

I also ever only ride on the hoods /bars (have crosslevers on the Giant which I use for braking). However, I also have a flatbar bike, which is more rufty tufty. I'd say you need both ;) (oh and a 3rd roadbike which is a bedroom ornament :whistle: )

I might like it a bit more when the new 11-36 cassette has been fitted..

Having had a few days to mull things over and my ideal set up for gearing on the bike would be 42/28 front but they are very expensive and of course the other bits you need to change with it. ( about £500 I reckon)
So that a Sirrus Comp at £800 plus the £500 for the gearing would make £1300..
So I had a nose at a couple of triples, road not crosstrail. and the Ridgeback Flight 3 comes in at a £1000 and the Scott 20X is at £850 both with the same gearing.. 48/36/28 front and 11-34 rear.. both cheaper to do than alter the Comp.
But a standard Comp with 48/34 front and a 11/36 rear is still very good..
I have to say my brain hurts today.. :biggrin:
