ive noticed a lot of things cheaper on the continent recently and I'm popping over to France for a long weekend soon.

Are there any significant cost savings over there?

If so, where do people shop?

I'll be driving down, Calais through Paris to The Land of Disney.

Even before the Euro lost so much value I was buying ski touring equipment from a shop in Paris at about 70% of the UK price. Just place the order and the goods arrive a few days later.

I buy quite a bit online from a variety of shops. Destock.fr and acycles are two examples. I used to pop into shops when travelling in many different countries but find that the prices are much better online, even with delivery to the UK. Occasionally I will order to pick up when 'in country', but for Europe at least no customs charges and cheap postage means it is easier just to deliver to the UK.

Any in particular? What kind of stuff do they sell?

Decathlon is roughly the same, it seems.
Super-U and Leclerc both carry a small but perfectly formed range of bits like inner tubes, brake blocks, cables ... Nothing obscure.
