I'm writing all this down for when we go on our work's trip into Manchester in a couple of weeks time, last year I got fleeced with buying a round in the most expensive pub we went in all day.

And isn't it odd how often the person who makes that suggestion is the one who ordered the steak. It's how people with loads of money keep hold of it.

An ex friend always orders the mixed grill in an Indian where the bill is being split.
Always buys the first round when some of the group have not yet arrived and drinks it slowly so when the rrest arrive he cave avoid completing the round as someone else is ready for another or one of the newcomers buys a round... in which he includes himself. As I as, ex.....

You've just reminded me of a bloke in a group I used to drink with who'd always try and get his round in in Wetherspoon's.

Financially, the same problem as being in rounds. If everybody starts off putting in a tenner then the guy drinking the double whiskies is going to do a lot better than the person having lemonades!

At least it gets rid of the problem of the person avoiding buying a round at all. And kittys are good if there is a real big group

Anyway, I don't know why you're being so miserable. I seem to remember you having a great old time in the Oakwood in Glossop on one occasion
