Thanks for the reminder. I've been meaning to cancel too as it's not worth reading any more. I find tha tthese days I give it a quick glance, find nothing relevant to me in it and pass it on to a colleague at work! Don't see why I should be paying for a free monthly mag for him any more....
I stopped buying it when I thought I was moving to Switzerland and had to get rid of a big pile of them. Then the move fell through . I know what you mean about it getting repetitive. Personally, I find road bikes pretty much alike, but it was excellent.
I've found the same with Cycle Active, after only a year. In fairness, it's aimed more at the newbie than at me, and I have enjoyed reading some of the health and diet related articles but I shan't be renewing. I did win letter of the month once though so I can't really grumble!
I cancelled my subscription about two years ago and have bought about three copies since, when on visits to the UK, the last time being last week and I got the free buff. If anything it has got worse: just endless articles aimed at amateur roadies (nothing wrong with that but what about people who are not amateur roadies) and what can otherwise only be described as very lazy journalism.
Unless there is a big market of amateur roadies (and there may well be) I think C+ is doomed.
It used to be a great mag, back in the day when Dan Joyce edited it and it was full of articles about how to build your own lights on a budget and how to fix your bike with whatever's knocking around your shed. Then it became all about selling very expensive stuff which any amateur cyclist can easily manage without, and reviewing expensive, shiny, exquisite and very very dull bikes and I lost interest. Haven't bought a copy for years.
