Yes you can, man up. Although water bottles don't survive long.

Isn't it a little far ahead to be planning on winter cycling unless you're an eternal pessimist; Manchester isn't that bad. I'd avoid canals in the snow, wet, etc.. Is the towpath tarmaced or are there mud stretches? From what you've said you don't do many rural miles to get in to Manc (I think I do 4 to get to a main road) these will be gritted and clear, whilst it may be wet they're a pretty safe option.

Early or not - it's c2w time so I want to get it done and dusted ASAP

I did the frozen tundra of a canal every day last winter - was fine on a mtb but mtb's are just soooooooooooo not me at all .

It's 10 miles each way down the path ( none is bit-macked) and with a magic shine it's fun unlimited :-)

How wide of a tyre can you fit mate ???

sorry for delayed answer. i've currently got 32mm cx tyres on and i reckon i could go up a size, but it would be tight, defo no room for guards.hth
Nope. I'm not sure what the spacing is (not at home at the mo) but it's got standard v-brakes on, so they won't get in the way.
When do you get it Gaz?

With it being a little bit 'bespoke,' couldn't you request that the gear cable be routed along the down-tube instead of along the crossbar?

Just a thought...

My voucher is here hurrah

Can the pompino be specced with drops and disks ? Otherwise I'll go with the Pompetamine Versa Would actually prefer to not have hub gears ( well gears at all) to keep up my fitness this winter

I have fired off an email to On-one/ P/x but just wondered if you lot knew the answer ?

Pompino doesn't have mounts for disks

Shame but there you go

No, but I've got a disc on the front of mine with drop bars. Its an older frame (mtb spacing at rear for alfine) but it's now fitted with a pompetamine fork at the front for a disc and a V-brake at the rear on the frame mounts. Both ends use similar pull levers so no problem there and after all, most of your braking is at the front end anyway.
