C2W which bike to get £600 max

I'm looking at getting a bike for work which is about a 7 mile trip. What bike would you recommend? I was thinking of a hybrid but I'm open to change and don't want to spend more than £600

What is your route? does it include canal paths e.t.c. or just road? what would you want to use it for other than commuting?

The route will be all road. Apart from commuting it will be used for cycling to the shop, golf course and maybe the odd leisurely ride.

Only other thing I would say is forget about suspension forks. The tyres will give more bounce and they just add unnessecary weight.

I got a hybrid on my first cyclescheme, I now have a Defy 3 on my second scheme and love it to bits.

Well, the OP did say that he would be using it exclusively on the road and for that use the sus forks are redundant. That's why I suggested the Sirrus, as a follow on from model you have which you have and clearly love.

No the clubs will be in the locker. Defo no Suspension forks, I hate the things.
