The little tea kiosk at Fimber roundabout between Sledmere and Fimber. The garden centre cafe at Cranswick. I am sure though that some CC regulars will join me in nominating the deli in market place Pocklington....?

Seconded. However, there is also the little cafe further up the road, where Market St meets Union St. Was called Hieke's Imbiss, it's got a new name now, but I think it's the same owners. Nice for a relatively cheap pot of tea, and some a full English or Bacon butty, and all good value. A lot of the older locals go in, and I've overheard some hilarious local gossip when in there alone.

Ooh, how exciting. I'll have to check out Dunnies, having just last week moved to Otley!

My favourite ride this summer (home- Fountains Abbey - Ripon - Kirby Malzeard - Laverton - Brimham Rocks - Ripley - home) has included an amazing pie stop at Highside Butchers, Kirby Malzeard. Not a cafe but worth mentioning. Park bench not quite opposite to sit and eat it on!

Great tip there Julia. Next time you are in Boroughbridge visit Greenwoods butchers. Their pork pies are stunning as are their sausages and black pudding.

You might be interested in my pie chart.....

Boroughbridge is a regular cycle stop. I'm not a fan of pork pies myself but Greenwoods steak pies are great. Love the pie chart - Appletons in Ripon is also a personal favourite. I have to tell you that Robinsons in Knaresborough has recently closed down - I think he has retired - but would recommend Huttons as a worthy replacement run by my mate Colin.

Pie shops have priority over cafes when I am out and about.

My pie chart identifies sources of good pork pies encountered and yet to be encountered on my bike rides. It isn't comprehensive I have a self imposed limit of two pie shops on any given ride.

I must get out more often....
