You must also check out Cock Pit farm tea rooms, as recommended to me by phil_hg_uk. It is in a lovely location a few miles up the road from Otley and is very popular with cyclists.

Ha ha - great minds think alike, eh Phil!

Not tried that, but there's 'Buffers' up at Storiths, if that's still open?? (correctly known as Back O Th' Hill Farm)

Just off the A59, on the eastern side of the Bolton Abbey turning.
it's up a side-road @ OS SE 082 543 (Sheet 104)

Be warned!!! Unless the road layout has changed, this is a 3-lane road (centre lane was for overtaking in either direction)
If you approach from the east (heading from Blubberhouses/Menwith Hill/Harrogate), & are riding there, it may be safer to stop on the kerbside & wait for a gap in traffic

I never spotted that one. I usually call in at Cavendish Pavilion if I am in those parts.

I agree about that bit of the A59! For a year or two, local audax event Spring Into The Dales went up Storiths and crossed the A59 before descending to the left turn onto Beamsley Lane. I saw a few near misses between cyclists and fast-moving traffic - dodgy! (SITD now takes an alternative route which I prefer, via Bolton Abbey, Halton East and Draughton.)

Visited a new one, to me this morning (was going to yesterday, but called at 'Squires', at Sherburn-in-Elmet instead)

It's a bit out in the sticks, to the north-east of Pontefract
I went up to up from the A645, via Beal, then over the River Aire, up to Birkin, turning left towards West Haddlesey
it's located at a fishing lake, & is quiet small ,seating perhaps 25 maximum

A lovely quiet spot, with the loudest noises being the chatting of the owner/staff & the chirping of Birds!

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
@Richard A Thackeray - been past that one en route to the cafe at Seedlings Nurseries. I'll have to stop next time.

I think my collegue Chris (Whittam), who is now one of your members (again) has mentioned that one to me

I'd called, after being out through; Featherstone > Purston > Ackworth > East Hardwick > Darrington > Wentbridge > Kirk Smeaton > Little Smeaton > Walden Stubbs > Womersley > Cridling Stubbs > Kellingham Common > jct 34/M62 > Whitley Bridge > Beal

Granted, a fairly circular route, but I hadn't got a lot of time

Jodrell Bank had changed the bread they use on their delectable bacon butties last time I popped in. Not quite as good as before. Might have been a one off so will need to try it again soon. :mrpig:

Hasn't @potsy posted Bear Grills in Congleton in this thread yet.
