No treading on eggshells required.

On the internet, surely not!!!

It was becoming a bore to find so many threads being steered in the same crude direction. So it all sounds fair to me.

After all, if there was a near-naked man thread, I wouldn't be offended, I just wouldn't bother reading it.

As a woman....

I can only speak for myself of course, but it's not so much the nakedness of the women as the attitude of the people posting them, the objectification of women, judging them on appearance etc. By and large, I can ignore threads, but they (and the attitudes they contain) are still there, and sometimes it spills into threads I am interested in. There's been rather a lot of it recently, and I think the feeling among us women members is that it simply reached an unacceptable level. Also, it can (and indeed, apparently does) put off potential new members who feel uncomfortable with it.

The important thing is that Admin has an idea of what this place should be like, and by and large, that doesn't include lechery. Ok, I might post the occasional about a chap, but I don't, I hope, do in in a tone that denigrates or objectifies them. I'd feel uncomfortable about a thread that leched over near naked men too, if it did that.

Also, of course, we women have a lot of history to look back on, in which 'we' were kept under the thumb and valued by some men purely for our looks. We feel that sort of thing ought to have died out.

I am sure that this is partly a question of how much and how often, and I suspect that few women would be offended by the occasional "Which female singer/film star/cyclist do you fancy" thread.

Indeed I seem to remember that some of our esteemed lady members started a lively "hot men" thread a few months ago.

Fair enough, if it makes you feel uncomfortable then it's completely unacceptable and I'd like to apologise profusely to you and any other female forum members who I may have offended with my participation in such threads.

I'm not too much of a "blokey bloke," but can be a bit guilty at times so I shall cease any such behaviour immediately.

I've got the kettle on, anyone fancy a cuppa before I hit the oh-so-tedious turbo trainer again? (gives me an excuse not to get on it )
