Spot on.

I've noticed that 'hot men' threads tend not to last long. I don't know if this is a comment on the difference between what men and women look for in a partner in general, or whether it merely reflects a skewed sample of women on this forum, whereas the male members represent better the whole gamut of male attitudes. I know that personally, although I can drool with the best of them, there are many other more important qualities in a man.
It may not have lasted long, but I remember being more than a little surprised at just how enthusiastically some of our lady members joined in on this particular discussion ;)

I am a member of another "professional" forum, and they have this kind of 'play nicely and don't be rude' policy. You get a warning if you use the word 'bloody', so that can be a challenge if you are in the woundcare forum, you get a warning if you put '****' or similar ('!!!!') instead of a word. You get a warning for any post which the moderators 'percieve' as rude, insulting, indecent, prejudiced or "out of keeping", despite context or where any word appears in a sentence.

It's a bloody nightmare, it is extremely stifling of any debate or humour, and posts are constantly flagged for even posting a differing point of view. It's possibly the blandest forum on the web, and I would hate to see CC go the same way because everyone is treading on eggshells the whole time.

Perhaps there is a halfway point that could be reached. Halfway between treading on eggshells and driving a coach and horses. ;)

I hasten to add that just because I have quoted the honourable member for Cheddar and Gorgeousness, this remark pertaining to the conveyance of a coach and horses through a particular policy or guideline, is not aimed at the afore-said member.

No point riding a bike or two on eggshells either - that would lead to utter tandemonium!

Driving a coach and horses over eggshells? I though coconut shells were more usually used for horses hooves....
