Why doesn't anywhere seem to sell proper cake tins (storing cake variety)....?

Been in Asda, Sainsburys and Wilkos this afternoon, and all they sell are nasty square plastic boxes nearly all of the wrong size, no nice round proper cake tins. Don't know what the world is coming to... in my day... etc.

We save Quality Street (etc) tins from Christmas for precisely this cake-storage-related purpose. :becool:

Emma Bridgewater at John Lewis - as an example...

Saw this after posting the link. Patriot tins! :becool:

I have a base with a glass dome to keep cakes in - trouble is that they sit there staring at you, waiting for you to weaken.

On line of course, but a fine selection

You could always buy the Quality Street Tin and discard the contents ...

Obviously chocolate tins are a good scheme, but as I don't consume chocolates that's not an option!

Buy them, keep the tin, pop the chocolates in a jiffy bag and post them to me and everyone is happy :becool:

I usually get a tin of biscuits at Christmas which is used when biscuits are gone - it's not long before they're gone. Otherwise I think Lakeland sell some nice ones. I prefer square ones as they fit in a corner easier than round ones.
