Calais to Paris

A couple of friends are planning to ride from Calais to Paris. Any advice? And any route suggestions?

Go from Dieppe and follow the well signposted Avenue Verte. I did it last week and enjoyed it. There's a decent description of the route and downloadable GPS tracks here:

I know that it's a drag to travel to a port further away but the route is a delight.
