yesterday i called in my 5th 101 call in as many weeks.
this time it was a white van driver at red lights who decided to get out his cab and try and take a swing at me because i had the audasity to enquire why he was beeping his horn at me.

of course i took his number and made sure i was in a low gear for a quick getaway before i did so.

today a car driver tod me he was going to wrapp my bike around me head because i had pulled to a halt at the side of the road i front of him
this time i refrained from the 101 call and simply suggested that maybe he should shove his car up his arse in stead.

i wounder if a 101 call would have been better , but it does get ever so tiresome talking to the police.

Keep it up Dave - you're doing a great job!

Swing a d-lock round their heads.

Got to love the gallows humour. M/bikers are the same with the "size 10 boot" comments.

I would be a +1 with the camera, get it quietly on film, be restrained and hand the footage over to the Police and stick the youtube link in a stopSMIDSY report (yes I know it aint a smidsy but they accept reports of all bad road use)

As long as I breathe, I attack.
National Police non-emergency number. People had trouble remembering or finding the local stations numbers and ended up annoying the operator or even being stupid and dialing 999 for less immediate problems.

And here`s me with the local plods number in my contacts and they go and make it easier to remember...........

One of the good things the Labour government did, and did get right imo. Members of my family have been in the situation where they'd search the number, think they'd found the right one and rung the rozzers for a problem (eg mental neighbour) only for the desk guy to say "sorry, cant help, I'm not your district, ring so and so!"

Cue faffing to find right district.

101 just makes it easier. They do the faffing and know the districts.

I don't think it's nationwide yet.

In fact DirectGov says "the 101 service is currently available in the following areas:
  • Wales
  • Hampshire and the Isle of Wight
  • Sheffield"

So not yet national... I have wondered why we don't have a national one yet... guess they are working towards it.

I advised my mum to call 101 as there were some door to door con artists trying to slam the old dears round her way on to a different phone network. When she phoned it the automated response said the trial of this service had ended in her area and instructed her to dial a 0845 number. Oh.

Our system is great; you call the West Midlands non-emergency number who put you through to Warwickshire Police. You then request a form to be sent to your house. Complete the form and return to the police.
Not a faff at all then.
