Well as I am not tied to any contract I can just go to someone else, there are lots of offers on.

That is trivially true.

However if for a second I take what you say seriously, if you are thinking of leaving then I would recommend talking to retentions first.

I'm just offering advise. Many are the superhub customer who have problems - which can usually be resolved.

I'm a volunteer at a local museum, which has a small wireless network that was set up with WPA2 by another volunteer. The site is run on a shoestring and there is no-one there day to day with any I.T. expertise. When the internet connection died shortly before I started there, the manager was talked through sorting it out by the ISP's call centre. This worked ok and everything on the network seemed to be functioning properly.

I then turn up as a new volunteer with some I.T. expertise and immediately find that the wireless network is open to all and sundry. I mention this to the manager, who is unaware that this is even a problem. Some questioning reveals that the museum was charged (a lot!) for exceeding its data allowance the previous month and no-one knows how this happened.

It turned out that the call centre's advice involved a factory reset of the modem/router (leaving it unsecured) and then setting up the line connection. The call centre did not go on to explain how to secure the wireless network again afterwards or even that it might be needed. The router was at first floor level, by a window overlooking a street, on the other side of which was a busy pub. It wasn't difficult to work out why the data allowance had been exceeded. I could even get a decent signal insde a second pub 50m away.

You mean they were claiming that they'd lost it in the post??
yup... and when the next modem died, they didn't send me a 'paid postage returns sticker' to return it... they claimed they'd sent three, and all of them must have been lost in the post... then they got all shirty when i suggested the likely scenario is they simply hadn't sent any.

On the third attempt I got my current modem. However my original modem didn't break, it just wouldn't support 20Mbs. The first two never turned up.

It was mainly the irony of the PO claiming that the PO had lost things in the post!

(I know they are probably completely separate operations, but still....)
