There was a great Radio Four programme this morning packed with subterfuge, intrigue and conspiracy theories involving a prominent member of the royal family which simply has to be a resource begging to be plundered to add to your tales of the highs and lows of the high life and low life consorting with each other and being beyond the long arm of the law due to 'connections'.

Ah, I had that problem around midday. Their search box just led to an error message page.

One of the major features of the village is Saint Michael's Church. It is renowned for its historic association with the smuggling trade. Once upon a time the church was near the waterfront of Fobbing Harbour. Smugglers sailed up Fobbing Creek guided by the distinctive church tower but after thegreat flood of 1 February 1953, the creek and harbour were sealed up by a dyke and drained. Underneath the church are many tunnels which were used by the smugglers in the fourteenth century.
