Do you feel fatigued?

I don't mean as a result of taking antihistamine, I mean dog tired as a symptom.

I've been feeling run down for a couple of weeks now and the only thing I can think of (aside natural born bone idleness, which I have to admit is a possibility!) is it's hayfever. I don't recall ever feeling tired with it before but my hayfever has changed over the years - I don't suffer as I did in my teens.

It's the wine that you're using to wash down the anthistamines.

Try water.

When i was younger my hay fever was a lot worse than it is now and yeah it used to knock hell out of me, very little energy at all.

I find that cetirizine antihistamines do make me very drowsy, despite them being marketed as not causing drowsiness in "most people".
I don't have that problems with loratadine antihistamines though and find they work well.
Boots currently have generic one a day loratadine at 99p for a weeks worth with buy a second pack half price.

True, although the polar opposite of what the thread is about!

YES!!!!!!!

Even notwithstanding the drug induced haze, and the bleary eyes, and the counter productive sneezing fits, the itchy palate, the ceaseless rubbing of the eyes, none of which non-sufferers empathise with, the fatigue is the worst bit of all, that it drains you of so much residual oomph.

Thanks people for your input.

Obviously, I wasn't looking to be diagnosed on the forum, just looking for others experiences. I've suffered with hayfever since my late teens so am very familiar with the standard symptoms but don't recall ever feeling quite so fatigued by it.

Yes, me too. End of May, beginning of June has always been my hayfever time. Until my late 30's I'd be a snotty, sneezing mess. Since then (I'm now 46) it's gradually decreased to being the same as you- a flat battery.
Last week I was away in Mallorca and I was fine, the 3 weeks before this I felt a bit rubbish. Since being back (landed at 1.30 am Saturday) I've had gritty eyes, sore throat and a bit of trouble breathing on the bike. It will go in a week or 2.

Thanks Dave. That helps. My hayfever has changed over the years too. It can even be different one year to the next. Some years, I have (comparatively) few problems with it. Of course, this is also due to varying pollens and pollen levels, weather conditions, etc. But the trend has definitely been away from sneezy snottiness to watery, itchey eyes. The fatigue is new though.

Of course, it doesn't help living in the countryside and having fields of wheat/hay all around AND it being hay making time!

OT but I was anaemic a couple of years ago. For various reasons, my GP didn't want to put me on iron tablets and recommended I first increase my consumption of iron-rich food *and* vitamin C, which helps absorb iron. It took a month or two but I've not had any problems since, especially since I've kept up the dietary changes.
