Yes it is, a good tarmac path all the way. It crosses a few roads (where they have priority) and swaps oddly from side to side in a few places, and is shared used with peds, but it is basically a good route for road bikes. I'm only an occasional visitor but I'm sure others here will tell you much more.

@HLaB - let me know if you fancy some company, I could meet you in Cambridge and show you a good cake stop in St Ives.....
My plans at the moment are to cycle down to London on the Saturday and kip at a mates place and cycle to Cambs (Aunties Tea Shop) with them (leaving London at 9am Sunday) and meet other mates who are cycling Peterborough to Cambridge, and join them for the return. That's the plan at the moment anyway; I might just end up cycling to Cambridge on the Sunday.

I cross it near Willingham nearly everyday too
Sometimes it's flooded towards the St Ives end but I'm not sure at the moment...

I wonder if that's the stupid b***** who threatened to push me off my bike for 'speeding' past her, while I was travelling at a whole 5mph. The fact we had a short 'conversation' (in a very loose sense) while I passed her should tell you how slowly I was going. Anyway if it's her, she's a nut case.

What? You're not going to tell us about the "conversation"?

I'll be out on a Sunday morning ride, otherwise coming towards Cambridge from the south you could have stopped off at mine for refreshments :cuppa:. I'll look out for you on the roads though, you never know our paths may cross.

Her: Some random ranting about cyclists zooming around everywhere.
Me: Something like er... I'm doing 5mph
Her: More ranting about cyclists not belonging on the pavement.
Me: something about the cycle path
Her: threatens to push me off my bike
Me: gets onto the road & rides off at speed...

I was riding round this corner at the traffic lights because there was a minor collision between two cars at the traffic lights. As normal when I do actually cycle on cycle paths I'm cycling as slowly as is comfortable (around 5 mph).

Well, the only cycle path I could possibly use going to work (Route 51, Sandy to Bedford - then off to Kempston) is a no-go area. Full of thorns, gravel, bumpy tarmac (when there is one) and very -and I mean very- argumentative squirrels..
Therefore I only get verbal and gesticulate abuse.. :heat:
