After the deluge of rain through April I noticed a couple of weeks ago that the area along the St Ives section was badly flooded. Anyone in the know as to whether the situation has improved/things back to normal now? Wanted to use it next weekend as part of a circuit, but don't want to trail out to St Ives only to be disappointed. Any info greatly appreciated. ;)

Sorry can't help with the part of the route that was most hit by flooding, but I've just done the Cambridge to Fenstanton section and back today, and that was completely fine if that's any help. This guy managed to cycle through the flooding when it was at its worst earlier in the month without getting too wet, so I would guess it should be a lot better now- I'd go for it

EDIT, since I posted the above our local blogger (JME) updated his blog with a trip he did last Friday (18th) and the flooding has largely cleared apart from a short stretch. See here

Its now flood free mate, the last section that was still flooded on Friday but was passable today, its still damp and dirty and there is some water still on the track but it should dry out in a few more days.
Back on the road bike today which I hate to get dirty so on the damp bits I went super slow until clear and the tyres dried out and the back in the game !!
