I'm looking to get a camera, mostly for adding a few landscape pics, points of interest, wildlife, etc to my ride records. Started to look and there is a bewildering array of cameras, which seem to do everything imaginable if you can understand the lingo. Quality of picture and ease of use are my main criteria, budget is upto £100 but less is better. Any suggestions welcome.

There are loads to choose from!
If you want to photograph wildlife as well as landscapes you'll probably need something with a zoom function.
The digital zooms tend not to be so great, (the more you zoom in, the grainier the picture gets) the optical ones are better.
Most cameras within your budget have auto settings, so are pretty easy to use.

I could list loads but this one has a good optical zoom range.
It's just a matter of filtering through them and making a choice!
I have a Nikon Coolpix for taking out and about when I don't want to haul my 'big' kit.
Fuji and Samsung are fantastic quality too.

I'm the same as SL. I have a Coolpix when I don't want to lug my kit around. Superb little cameras.

I have been looking for a while and just as i was about to pull the trigger (see what i did there?), i found the reviews of Panasonic Lumix TZ40 ..... Very highly rated and now down to £195 , brand new ones on Ebay are around £150.
I know it's over your budget, but take a look and also the Canon IXUS 265 hs. Both are highly rated as is the Sony RX100 but that is very expensive

You could try the TZ35 which looses the WiFi feature for about £140.

I've got a TZ40 and I absolutely love it. However, I can't say whether it's better or worse than the competition, all I can say is that it suits me fine.

Thanks, ample food for thought there. Looked about and I could get a TZ35 for £105 (refurbished/1yr warranty). Slightly tempted to spend a bit more but suspect it will be overkill. My main interest is cycling and anything that cuts into that budget is clearly a bad thing!

Think of it another way .... If you are going to bother with the expense and hassle of taking a camera with you, then shouldn't it be the best camera (pic quality, size, weight, optical zoom, lens and aperture size) within your budget?
