Camera selling advice

I'm changing over to Canon so am thinking about selling my Nikon gear. I'mpretty clueless with second hand gear but interested if anyone has any idea what I might expect to get for:

Nikon D40 (Boxed, 3 months old)
Nikon Nikkor 18-55mm
Tamron 300mm telephoto (Internal motor D40 compatible)
Lowepro Bag

Cheers for any advice it's just I don't want to advertise it completely under/over priced!

I have no idea, but do try ebay once you get an idea from the camera buff's.

Anything worth any money will sell for a good price on the bay.

I eventually decided to sell a pair of wheels on ebay - old school Mavic 501 hubs - beautiful, on DT swiss spokes and Open 4 CD's - got about £60 plus postage - I only sold as every bike I have is running Cassette hubs !!

I'm curious about a switch from Nikon to Canon, though, when the D300/D700/D3 line-up is available to you if you want an upgrade. While the two companies keep leap-frogging each other, at the moment Canon doesn't have anything to touch any of them, so the timing looks a bit odd to me!

I'll have a look on ebay, the main reason for the switch is that a friend is selling off his EOS 40D cheap and I'm looking to sell the Nikon to finance that. Also my father uses Canon and has a large collection of lenses so just thought it'd be ideal!

What do you use, Ben? Just out of interest.

CJ, I sold my Nikkor 18-55 about six months ago for £85. D40 kits (ie body and 18-55 lens) seem to be listed anywhere between about £200 and £400 on ebay at the moment. However, I'd have said this is perhaps a bit steep; since the D300 came out, you can pick up a D200 body (still an excellent camera) for around £500, if you're lucky.
I'm not sure what the Tamron is worth. I bought a 70-300 Tamron zoom for £26 off ebay, but I was lucky. Is yours a prime lens or a zoom? What's the maximum aperture?
