Ullapool camping is on the coast isn't it? If there's a breeze that'll keep them down. Stay away from trees and water and it varies so much it's hard to say. I've had glorious weeks of no bother and single nights of horror. One spot full of them, another spot none.
Never found the midges in Ullapool to be a problem.So my two possible camping spots, Ullapool and Nairn, anyone know if I'll be bothered by midges in those places? I reckon Nairn would be fine?

One of the Christmases spent there, with several feet of snow on the ground (which was stunning) I found the most ENORMOUS mozzies on the prowlneither have I .... but I did go in January just to be on the safe side.
Going to Knoydart in May - do I feel lucky (punk)?
