Can anyone recommend a decent wireless bike computer?

Ideally I'd like one for less than £50. Most importantly I'd like one that does miles ! ( the only ones I can find all have kms on the pictured display and none of the blurb I can find states whether you can chang'em to miles- or are they all dual measurement?).

Ah that's good to know- thanks Noodley. I bought one once that only did KMs and had to take it back to the shop! It was a cheapish one and quite some time ago though.

Pretty much anything from Cateye IMO depending on what you want to spend and what spec is important to you,but £30-£40 will get ou a decent bit of kit I would think

I've been using the Cateye Micro for a couple of months now and I am very pleased with it - costs around £35. And even tho picture in link shows it operating in km, it definitely does miles too because that is how I have it set up.

Cateye Strada here. Quite like mine. The Knog one is pretty close in spec but cant be rotated for stem-mounting. Some of the Mavic ones are very cool if you had a small fortune to spend. The Trek ones aint so good though according to my LBS, they had to send a few back due to interferance iirc. Was a few years back though.

I have both the Cateye Strada Wireless and the Vectra wireless. I prefer the Strada out of the two units. It has a slightly larger screen, one touch cycle through and most importantly an average speed function.

While the Vectra has a lower purchase price I think the slightly higher cost of the Strada provides best value.

This is my one. KM's in the pic, but does miles. What is good about it is that it has 3 levels on the display.

I'm happy with mine, though I've never got around to bothering fitting the cadence sensor. Easy to read, backlight is handy at night and nice big (without being OTT) easy to press buttons.

I use this Cateye version. was about £30-35. Works very well and the wireless means no messy cables.

Purely from an individual point of view - The other thing I like about the blackburn is that the head is held on by a proper bracket and shaped pad rather than bodged on with cable ties.

A personal thing but I hate things held on by cable ties..it looks cheap and nasty. Wheel sensor - OK, there are so many variations in forks it makes sense, but not the head unit, I just find it tacky

Just get a VDO, they all have a choice of miles or Km, and they all come with a five year warranty if it goes wrong they give you a new one, which is more that can be said for many other cycle computers...

Decathlon do a fairly well specced wireless computer for about £15.

Has mileage, trip, avg speed, stopwatch, watch etc - No backlight or Cadence, but what do you expect for £15

Oh - it and also has the worlds ugliest spoke magnet, the things Huuuuuge. But the puter itself seems well made, and easy to use.

+1 I've got the Micro too and also set up to miles :-) I was very pleased with it, through no fault of its own the thing has slightly become redundant as I got my self a Garmin.
