Can anyone recommend a mains operated shaver?

It doesn’t matter whether it has a rechargeable battery or not just so long as it can be powered by the mains cable regardless of the state of the battery.

My Phillips 3 head one will run off the mains if the battery is flat. I have a battery one and a mains, but the battery one certainly runs off the mains as I forget to charge it occasionally.

You can still find Remington R3 online in some places.

I prefer to wet shaven but do use an electric shaver for convenience a lot of the time.

Over the years, I've had countless rechargeable shavers give up the ghost. I bought the mains only Remington R3 and have been very happy with it. Does what it says on the tin. It's much easier to clean than a Phillips.

I believe there is a rechargeable version of the R3 too, so watch watch what you order.

Why bother with electric shavers. They are unreliable and cost too much for how they perform. Just get tried and tested by yourself disposable blades, costing a few quid. I shave every day and get a smooth result, using a Bic 'comfort' razor, costing about £1.50 for 10 disposable razors.
