Need some help identifying an old frame
I picked up to race in L'eroica in June .
Its got a the remains of a Pinarello decal.
Lots of old campag bits and s Triple ttt set
of handlebars and an omega crank
But the frame number underneath
has been filed down.
I'm suspicious now and not sure if its Italian
or UK frame .
there are no GP Pinarello frame markings .
any help greatly appreciated !

Rear derailleur dates it at 76 latest.
Saddle dates it 75 - 79 latest.
Brakes date it 69 - 76 latest, if they are UNIVERSAL SUPER 68's

What's the headbadge?
The fork crown is lovely!
The lugs overall look a bit chunky and cheap to me.
What's the seat post diameter?
Are the dropouts Campagnolo?

Maybe it was a low end machine that they made for a while??

Low end with brakes that cost £60+ in the 70's?

Blimey that's a real "Bitsa" of a 70's frame / bike. No real one identifying feature aside from the only bit of chrome which is the fork crown..........not typically UK as chrome was splashed about a bit more. French or Italian type trick with just the chrome fork crown.

Is the Bottom bracket 70mm in width?

That looks a good match . Ties in with my thoughts on the only chrome being on the forks..

Hubs throws everything else out though.
Converted double singlespeed?

What I don't like is that crack in the paintwork, just below the badge. It's on the inside of the lug.

And filing a number, or part of it off is usually done for what?

There's much that's the same from those photos, lugs, head-badge etc. so maybe it really is genuine.
That's a 1980's head tube badge. Bike model under the Pinarello name.
