I think that I've just found a good hack. Go and buy carton of Orange Juice (other juices are available) drink the juice - do you feet feel warmer?? No?? Ok carefully cut the open the empty packet, pull out the insoles of your cycling shoes, trace round the insoles to make a pattern on the packet, cut out the pattern and pop the shapes (foil to the inside )into your shoes and then put your insoles back.

Do your feet now feel warmer when you are out on a ride??

So I'll tried this out on my cycling shoes and the fit of the shoes is unchanged, as expected, as the carton packaging is quite thin - I've not been out for a ride 'cause its too cold.

But have done the same to a pair of cheap walking shoes and it does seem to work when I'm out walking (or am I kidding myself??). The cartoon insoles should be waterproof and the alumimuim foil should reflect radiated heat back from your feet - so I think it should work.

Found the basis of this hack on youtube - but now can't now find the video.

*ps didn't drink all of the juice other folk helped I just diverted the cartoon on its way to the bin.

You could use any tetrapak. I'll give it a go.

Don’t worry , some other pain will come along and take your mind off it
You could play old timers bingo and mark off each ailment as you get them - careful though , when you shout bingo as you bend to tie shoelaces they might think it’s time you go in a home !
