Is it just me or has the quality of driving (for the little that it was) suddenly deteriorated in tandem with the end of the summer holidays?

It quite possibly has. The same thing occurs here in Melbourne: motorists take more risks in bad weather, instead of adjusting their driving to suit the conditions, like most sane people would do.

Rode to work the other lunchtime and my fingers in mitts were uncomfortably cold.

Got absolutely p*ssed on at Cannop trail centre today. Managed a lap of the Freeminers trail, which was incredibly slippy, then called it a day! The rain never relented, but at least it was still some what warm.

It was cold this morning, lowest I saw was 3.9 degrees. Last week it was around 14 degrees in the morning.
Layers helped this morning.
