Hey guys,
Looking for buying my first bike at 26. Of course, that would be easier if I lived in richer country but it is what it is.
I got an offer at Giant mtb. Seller stated that bike is from 2013, 21 speed, alu frame and he quotated it at 150 euros,170 dollars.
I have some pictures but I'm not sure what model it is and is it worth it.
I think it's good price and with few minor modification it would be great deal. It's in running condition, the only repair must be done to the brakes. I will add some pics for you.

The bike itself looks good - it's a Giant and they do solid reliable frames.

My concern is the front suspension forks - they are very discoloured where the upper part goes into the bottom part - so I'd be concerned about how well they work. I'd imagine that they need a full service from how they appear in the pictures. From memory in the UK that costs in the region of €120, possibly less in your country as it's a labour intensive rather than parts intensive.

Looks like a Giant XTC from the frame shape (has it had a respray? They tended to have brighter graphics). If so then they're a well regarded hardtail and if it is indeed in good running order then that's a decent price, don't forget to haggle to save a bit of money for the brake work if you can. 20 Euros is better in your pocket than the seller's. 😊

Thanks for the feedback. I'm thinking of buying for 150euros and sparing somewhat around 100e to fix everything and get it to work properly.
I will be seeing it today.

Need better pics to help identify it.
What is the issue with the brakes? As mentioned by si_c the forks might (probably will) need attention. Might be ok though...

Quick update. It's not xct it's talon. But brakes don't work and fork is not very well..
Won't buy it.
Thanks anyway.
Probably for the best! The problem with buying a bike that needs work is that sometimes it can end up being far more expensive than if you had bought a bike in good condition. This is fine if you want to do the work but not if you want a bike you can use immediately.

Best of luck in your search.
