Can you lend me some 700c cross wheels with 140mm discs for a week?

Doing C2C in August and not wanting to use the best bike I have revived the poor neglected old Global titanium mountain bike and fitted some 1.25" Fatboy slicks on the 26" wheels.

Trouble is, the wheels and tyres look ridiculously small especially in the spacious rigid carbon fork. I've tried some 700c crosser wheels with 140mm discs and they look great, they fill the frame nicely and ride well, with about 10mm clearance at the bridges, which will be fine as we're doing the Way of the Roses on tarmac..

Anybody in NW England feeling generous?

IS your frame not suited to 165/185mm discs?

Er... they may be 165 now I think about it. Better measure this evening.

I was running a 185 caliper on a 165 disc on the front for a couple of weeks.....wasn't brilliant but it worked for a bit . Ish.

could poss lend you my wheels from my boardman cx team mate ..but there 160 rotors .... as that time will be of the bike after eye surgery

Very kind offer, thanks. Let me see what I can do here - latest wheeze is to rebuild my existing hubs with 650b rims. Going to the LBS on the way home this afternoon.

Oh and yes; the discs are 160mm.
