Can you trace this sad young man's route?

I came across this video a few days ago, but I delayed posting about it owing to smokeysmoo's loss. Apologies in advance for any insensitivity.

Can anyone work out his route? He starts out from the north east, near Liverpool. Then it looks like he drives across the Pennines. It's winter, so maybe it starts getting dark after a couple of hours. Then he starts driving down a motorway in the Midlands, but I can't see which one. He is still driving the next morning, so maybe he stopped off in a B&B somewhere, although it looks like he's had a mechanical. Then it looks like he's still in the north of England. I don't recognise the pier.

Answering my own question, he ends up in Blackpool. Looks like he took the scenic route. Fair enough, he had a lot on his mind. He's at a high point @ 1:55 judging by the communications tower. Where would that be, Yorkshire Moors? He looks at the photo and decides that's the place to spread the ashes. I suspect that was his old man's car. Maybe he found the photo in the glove compartment. Could be, could be. Then he sets off westwards. It looks like he dials 2184 something at @2:24. Presumably the number starts 0, but there is no area code 02184 in Britain. Not sure when the video was supposed to take place, perhaps before they changed area codes and put an 01 before most of them. In which case the equivalent area code would be 012184, only there aren't any phone numbers starting with that. The closest is 01214 which is Birmingham (of course, there is the possibility the actor dialled a random number). He might be going to Birmingham, but why doesn't he go back to where he starts out from? It is closer to Blackpool. I suppose he is phoning a friend to see if he can stay there, or more probably he is phoning his girlfriend, seeing that he knows the number by heart. Presumably he is not phoning his sister or she would come with him the next morning. Hmm, doesn't look like he going to Birmingham on the map. I can't work out where he's pointing to. Around 2:55 it looks a bit like north Wales. He does not seem to get to Blackpool till about 11.

Appears to be standing on the "bridge of no hope" a few times. Appears to pull off onto the A672. The places on the map are all
around the Manchester area.

It's a journey along the M62, East to West, across the Pennines. Explains "No Hope Bridge"

You cold pull into a layby and find a food wagon like that pictured, either direction.

On the map he's looking at, whilst in the car, are circles round all the local masts around Preston/Burnley.

Map has Lancashire printed on it.

Well, I hope he does not take up taxi driving.
He might be driving the next one you get in!

Classic has shown the transmitter on Windy Hill next to the M62.

One of the shots is on the A640 climbing to Buckstones ....

For some reason though, after he has stopped at the top, he turns round and comes back down again ... :okay:

If we didn't go out up those hills, how would we have recognised them!
"No Hope Bridge" over the M62, is what led me to think it was the A672. Still Englands highest motorway though.
The place where the food van would park. "No Hope Bridge" and a transmitter/mast.
