... and it came to pass that there was much sniggering in the bike shed.

Dress it up as much as you want, we are all basically animals, its the degree to which we hide (or not) the instincts that is the problem, if nobody ever expressed any desire then the species would die out, that said some blokes tend to express it a little too much, it isnt a crime to say someone is attractive, its how you say it "She is pretty" is preferable to "I would rip her a new one" or "I bet she takes it in the head like a dirty bad bitch", you may laugh but I have heard those phrases, I tend to just keep my thoughts to myself and if asked for an opinion I say somethign complimentary that I would be happy for the lady in question to hear as they dont wan to hear that kind of talk but would be flattered (I would hope) at hearing someone say they are pretty.

Some people just cant help but make lewd comments, in this case the OP was fine in what he said, to disrespectful, rather complimentary, some women I can imagine it would still offend as they get a lot of attention yet others would love someone to find them attractive, same for blokes, dont get blase about it, if it is respectful, enjoy it as one day it may stop.

If a bloke is caught having a crafty look at your breasts, dont berate him, unless leering, its natrua,l he is merely imagining biting your nipples and them bouncing up and down rhythmically, see, all perfectly innocent

Of course ladies never look at blokes.....

Seeing a pretty lady and exchanging a few light hearted words makes my day.

Whats wrong with the OP? I cant see it.

Whats wrong with what has followed? I'm not going there

Maybe you two should kiss and makeup.

It isn't a crime to say someone is attractive but personally I find it annoying and intrusive having people comment on my physical appearance on the internet when all I'm doing is riding my bike. However complimentary it is. I don't understand why people get so riled when someone objects to this, it seems pretty obvious to me.

I presonally dont comment on peoples physical charactersitics, I knwo a tall lady, over 6ft and people felt the need to say "Youre tall", durr, guess what she knew that she was above average height, I know I am a handsome devil and people respectfully dont tell me it all the time.

AB you're now sounding rather nasty and a little bullying of ttcycle.
I personally didn't find our OP offensive just read it for what it was but your ensuing bordering aggressive defence of yourself has let you down. Just how I see it.
Well, I'm sorry you feel that way, but I gave fair tt warning and I feel I have every right to defend myself, which is what I've done.

If people want to throw insults at me, they'll get them back - and that, I'm afraid, is life sometimes.

This is a chat forum and I doubt tt, or anybody else for that matter (excepting you, perhaps as you seem a little sensitive if you think I'm being aggressive), will have sleepless nights over my conduct.

Chances are, if tt and I were to meet, we'd get on very well - we've all something in common here - we cycle, and we enjoy it.

I've nothing against tt and I want to make that clear, but if anybody insults me - here or in the real world, I'll defend myself, and if that comes across to people like you as aggressive, so be it.

After thousands and thousands of years living with men why can't women just accept the fact that we are all just disgusting, lecherous perverts who look at you and instantly asses whether we 'would' or not? I mean it's not rocket science is it?

I thought that's what women were designed for?

This thread belongs in P&L

Jumping to AMs defence on this one, most of the women I know spend absolutely hours in front of the mirror plucking, preening and putting makeup on etc.

If you don't want men looking at you, why not just cover up and slob out a bit. The really pretty ones learn this fairly young to avoid the letching and comments from passing cars. You can't fight human nature

Oh, if you had loads of cellulite, we would have no interest in looking at your behinds in lycra, so you know the answer
