Well, I'm sorry you feel that way, but I gave fair tt warning and I feel I have every right to defend myself, which is what I've done.

If people want to throw insults at me, they'll get them back - and that, I'm afraid, is life sometimes.

This is a chat forum and I doubt tt, or anybody else for that matter (excepting you, perhaps as you seem a little sensitive if you think I'm being aggressive), will have sleepless nights over my conduct.

Chances are, if tt and I were to meet, we'd get on very well - we've all something in common here - we cycle, and we enjoy it.

I've nothing against tt and I want to make that clear, but if anybody insults me - here or in the real world, I'll defend myself, and if that comes across to people like you as aggressive, so be it.

Ignore list.

As I suspected... this forum isn't for me.
Well, that's a shame.

This forum is an absolute gold mine of information and virtual friendship. In fact there have been many real friendships forged here too.

I'd give it a chance if I were you, take a good look around and you'll see that the forum is a very friendly place on the whole. Try not to get put off by the occassional spat. It happens, but it's only internet land.

There's also your ignore list, accessible from the 'My Account' link (I think), if you find that somebody isn't your cup of tea (and it won't happen often), you can pop them in there.

Dont go, you only just got here!

Seiously, Never judge an entire forum by one "lone thread". the information gained from the members has helped me, and by all accounts countless others, ride safley and securely.

I think it would be pretty narrow minded of you to form an impression based on this thread alone (and actuall the thoughts of about 6 people...by my rekoning)

...actually come to think of it, if you have judged the forum form such limited investigation, then maybe you are right and this forum isn't for you.

Go on, prove me wrong, stick around

This thread belongs in P&L

Jumping to AMs defence on this one, most of the women I know spend absolutely hours in front of the mirror plucking, preening and putting makeup on etc.

If you don't want men looking at you, why not just cover up and slob out a bit. The really pretty ones learn this fairly young to avoid the letching and comments from passing cars. You can't fight human nature

Oh, if you had loads of cellulite, we would have no interest in looking at your behinds in lycra, so you know the answer

Come on very near -- that's a rubbish arguement! Surely, women and men can wear what they want and look how they want to.. did it ever cross your mind that sometimes women want to look nice for themselves and not just for the 'pleasure' of men? Plus why should people dress down so that they aren't looked at? Surely there is problem with the letchiness. Unfortunatley some people place to much emphasis on looking good for other people but surely that is an unhealthy reflection on the state of society. This isn't just a human nature aspect- there is a strong biological element but it's also cultural- women aren't here to serve the purposes of men which whether intending to or not your post above seems to suggest that. Did you read Wheeled Wheenie's post recently or would that for you be a justification that women shouldn't wear lycra lest men decide to be leery? This is not about political correctness either and if you see it as just thatm you really are missing the boat by a long mile.

It's almost as bad a someone justifying rape by saying she deserved it cause of her clothes.

Yeah, don't forget Very Near justified his view with a winky smiley, so he didn't really mean it if you get offended, he was only joking.

WOW now thats what I l call widening the debate!

I really cant see the problem with the OP. A guy admires a pretty girl and dares to say so

Its a sad world if a man cannot admire a woman or indeed a woman cannot admire a guy for his looks.

If you cannot have a smile when you see someone of the opposite sex whose looks please you, blimey

The modern PC outlook saddens me. But maybe thats why I'm a Sad Jack

You realise if you guys stopped doing this constant 'girls in lycra shorts, let's all have a fiddle at the traffic lights and kill ourselves when they overtake us' thing there might be a few more female cyclists and everyone would be much happier.

I speak as a girl roadie who has enough to contend with putting up with cat calls and wolf whistles from white vans and boy racers all the freaking time.

Admittedly this place is not as bad as bikeradar but it is still lame. Please stop it.

Things never change
