Spent 3 hours putting it together - it looks amazing !!!! Then tripped down a flight of stairs at work ( in the office ) its aggravated a problem with my spine i had since i was little. The end reult is that the doc thinks i shouldnt be bending down at the angle needed to ride it. So its either leave it in the spare room or buy something more 'sit up and beg' style. Im not overly happy but not going to let it stop me riding

Apologies for taking things off topic here, but GPs really aren't very good at the prognosis of these sort of injuries - unless they've got a specialism in sports injuries. A physiotherapist would be better, because this is the sort of thing they deal with every day. It might be worthwhile asking the quack to see a physio.

Anyway, GWS, and don't give up just yet!

If necessary, why not try fitting a radical stem to get the bars a lot higher? Something like this ...

Read some of the reviews and you might be encouraged to give it a go. You would probably also need to get the cabling changed to allow the bars to go that much higher, but it has to be cheaper than changing bikes!
