Had a go on one this weekend. it's a nice bike, a bit weighty, and I can't make my mind up whether disk brakes are really necessary.

Yeah it felt very comfortable to ride maybe due to the 28mm tyres. I only got a 10 minute go on it so I can't really do a proper review. I will say it's Not full ultegra, which I'd expect for just short of £2500 but the own brand crank did the job well, and it looks great.

My mate bought a supersix evo a few months ago and that's mostly Ultegra but not the chainset. I wonder if there's a reason? Or rather what is the reason?

I wouldn't mind finding out how he's getting on with it, as it's on the short list of bikes I'm looking at, with a view to buying one this year.Believe @Steve H purchased a Synapse at Xmas.... he might even have ridden it a couple of times since then......
