How do you know a bike is badly built unless you check it all?
It's not difficult - for example I recently fitted some SKS mudguards to the winter bike. After the first 2 or 3 rides, and now less often, I check the bolts on the stays for tightness. Same with other bolts on a bike. It's not obsessive is it? Doesn't everyone?

Yeah guilty as charged. Though when I got the Boardman I didn't take anything off. I just went over every fastening with a torque wrench.

Most of my pre-ride ocd stuff is done post-cleaning before the bike gets put away. I 'only' do an M check in the car park....
