I am seriously tempted to a Canyon bike - what you get for your money seems unbelievable and having read numerous reviews it seems the quality is there too. My budget is around £1,500 and clearly a Canyon would give huge bang for my buck.

I am pretty much a novice when it comes to bike set up and maintenance so I would love to hear from others who have taken the plunge with Canyon as to how much assembly and set up is required? Obviously there is a guide on the website and a few youtube videos but nothing too clear.

Essentially I would hope to simply secure the headset, put on some wheels and the seat before going for a spin - this may be completely unrealistic, hence my post!

Any other comments regarding Canyon also welcome - although I know there are a few other threads!

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all!

You may need to 'fettle' the indexing but that's pretty simple, loads of 'How to' vids on t'internet. The limit stops should be set but I'd want to check em before I rode it but then I would check everything myself just in case it was a 'Friday afternoon' build.
The last bike I assembled was the trike as I was quoted £35 delivery assembled or £5 delivery still in its box, bit of a no-brainer for me as once assembled it is a big bit of kit so could easily been damaged by a courier whereas the box and packaging was designed to be shipped from the manufacturers in Taiwan.
Its a Kentex 24" trike and the company only make specialist trikes and utility/working cycles (even a 'Wheelie bin' transporter Upright Tadpole Trike)

Mike, at Carb Cycles in Barnstaple, will order your bike from Canyon, assemble it and set it up properly for you if you wish, all for a reasonable fee.

& saddle, bar tape & brake levers/shifters, then re index the gears.
Not something I would be comfortable doing, but then I have the mechanical knowledge & dexterity of a walrus.
No the saddle was attached to the seat post and tape was already applied and all the gears worked fine straight from the box as I said 30min was all it took to get out the door.. Small edit I needed to buy and add the pedals as you would with any new bike.

I was gonna get one but got a good deal on another bike. A friend has three canyon bikes and raves about them even though he has several other brands.
