Canyon MTB as entry bike...

The Elder Son has been looking for a full suspension bike to start cross country & downhill riding, and after a great deal of searching he's found the Canyon Neuron AL 6.0. Local mountain bikers generally say it'll do what he wants and is good value for money: I'm interested to know what people here think, as I don't generally ride any bike built after 1995...

They are very good. One word of warning - the customer service is either good, or terrible. My colleague at work has just splashed out over £3.5k on a nice new Canyon - despite being in stock, it's not arrived after 6 weeks. He can't cancel as he's bought matching stuff for it !! They just keep saying it's awaiting dispatch.

Other than that they are very good bikes.

Good bikes. Being in Germany you may not have the delivery snags they have been infamous for in the last few years. I think this was mostly caused by rapid business expantion. Other than @fossyant 's comment above I've not heard of issues for over a year now.
