Hey all, I'm looking for a 7 seater vehicle. Budget of 4 grand but will pay a few hundred more if its desirable. Vauxhall Zaferia keeps coming up.

Thanks in advance.

I'll get in first to beat the usual CC recommendations of 'buy a VW/Skoda/Japanese' Don't get a Vauxhall/French/Italian.

That should cover the rest of the thread.

I can also attest to the poor electrical integrity of Renault cars. If you have one at least you're in good company, Bentley and Porsche have similarly bad records.

If you can find a clean MK2 Zaffie then go for it. 1.6 has acceptable performance, just, and decent fuel manners. The 1.8 is actually quite quick. Just check that its had the heater fan resistor mod!

Mrs D had one and it wasn't exciting, but proved to be dependable, cheap to run, and despite its lack of charm was quite likeable for its honest, unpretentious nature.

The VW Touran really isn't very nice at all, reflected by used prices that aren't terribly buoyant by VW standards. Only the higher spec ones were 7 seat anyway.

With your budget I wouldn't try and be too clever. That said, something like a LWB Shogun or 7 seat XC90 may fall within budget, bit at that price its liable to be leggy.

It's for a nursery to take children to national trust heritage sites and art galleries etc.
