Car batteries - pay more, get ... what?

The family Knees-mobile needs a new battery. I can get one from Halfords for £80, or I can get a choice of batteries from GSF, who have a 60% off deal on so theirs are cheaper - with a price range from £41 to £61. Obviously this latter option is more appealing.

However, I'm not at all sure what to look for in terms of telling one battery from another. Do I go for the

STANDARD BANNER STARTING BULL - 45AH - https://www.gsfcarparts.com/971aa0440
or
YUASA 5000 Series - https://www.gsfcarparts.com/971na0880

And what makes one better or worse than the other - presumably they'll both start the car and once it's inder the bonnet I'll forget all about it, so I should just get the cheap one? But maybe to dearer one will give more power and a better spark and better economy, or something? It's just a 10 year old CIvic, so no start stop, and not a mad amount of electronics compared to some modern cars, but obviously way more than in my dad's Maxi.

Need to buy one today as I had to start it with my battery booster thing twice yesterday. Any advice much appreciated.Ta.

There is no mention of warranty on the Banner battery, Yuasa is a very good brand, how long are you keeping the car?

GSF will be selling a reasonable quality product, hellfrauds who knows, certainly not the guy selling it too you. The trade buys from GSF not the other rubbish over priced name you mention.

Have you tried Carparts4less, or Eurocarparts? Both the same company often different prices and very often a discount code on line. Also often cheaper than GSF.

Carparts4less is delivery only I think, and I need the battery today (got time to fit it today) - they have a Lion brand battery for £50 though, or I can get it from Eurocarparts for £88 ...

Probably until it falls apart to be honest - it does everything I want. It's a Honda on 130k miles, and I do about 8k a year, so could be another 10 years I suppose!

Look in Yellow Pages and find an independent battery specialist. They do have reason to sell you the best battery for your needs. The sheds don't care.

Check the dealer too. OE batteries aren't always the most expensive, and usually come with good warranties.
Less than I was expecting, but more than I'd like to pay

While I was there I checked out how much it would be to get an updated DVD for the Sat Nav. I don't think I'll bother ...

There is an excellent specialist in Sheffield - SYBS Group - but they don't show prices online. I called them when I needed the same battery for the previous (written off) Civic and iirc they started around the £100 mark.

EDIT - Yellow Pages! I don't think we have one - the last one I saw was like a novella compared to the Doomsday Book-sized ones we used to get! I'll search on Lycos instead :-)

Eurocar parts - note the discount code on the front page ! = always discounted. You'll see a price on screen, then enter code in basket for 'real' price. You'll get a number of options for your car. I went mid range (duracell) and collected for a fraction of Halfords price. Also check the independent supplier - we have one that's a scruffy old shop that's just piled high with new and old batteries.

Don't buy a Lion branded one from Eurocarparts they are pants, mate supplied them to customers, replaced 40% under warranty. Have you tried a local motor factor? But if you need it today just go get one, if it's convenient what's an extra £10 on the next 10 years of your Honda

Barnet,
Wherever you buy from, get a heavy duty one. They hold the charge longer and have more oomph, what with winter coming. You will be using demisters, heaters, and the lights almost all the time, and in the cold the engine takes a lot of power to turn over and start
